Arguably the best football game on the system
This one had it all for 1993: both the NFL and NFLPA licenses (all 28 teams and around 800 real players), presented like a TV broadcast - camera angles, audibles, playbooks, instant replays, diving catches. It also carried on Sega’s landmark “Sports Talk” in-game voice commentary (called by 49ers broadcaster Lon Simmons), the tech that debuted a couple of years earlier in Joe Montana II: Sports Talk Football. Built by BlueSky Software, it’s widely praised - Sega-16’s retrospective flat-out called it “the best football game of the 16-bit era.”
