HAL Wrestling, in the original
If you had HAL Wrestling as a kid, this is the same game in its Japanese release: Pro Wrestling (Puroresu), Human, September 1990. HAL America only published it in the US; Human made it, the studio behind the Fire Pro Wrestling series. The Japanese cart opens with a HUMAN logo animation where the US one shows credits, and otherwise it is the game you remember: eight wrestlers, an isometric ring, single matches against the computer and 4-on-4 elimination.
It is not a Fire Pro game, just an earlier wrestling game from the same studio, so buy it for the nostalgia or the Human connection rather than expecting Fire Pro on a Game Boy.
No Japanese needed
It is an action game with menus, and there is no save battery inside to die.
Pair it with a console from the Game Boy shelf.
