Donkey Kong Country (SNES) - Authentic Super Nintendo Cartridge, Tested & Cleaned

The game that made the SNES look impossible

Authentic Donkey Kong Country for the Super Nintendo - Rare’s 1994 juggernaut, with pre-rendered 3D graphics that dropped jaws and helped the SNES go toe-to-toe with newer hardware. Roll, barrel-blast, and Kong-slap through one of the best platformers of the era. Powered on, verified to boot and play, and contacts cleaned before it ships.

Built on $80,000 workstations

The reason it looked impossible: Rare rendered 3D models on roughly $80,000 Silicon Graphics workstations and compressed them down into SNES sprites - the “Advanced Computer Modeling” look. It was one of the first pre-rendered console games (not the literal first - the Amiga’s Stardust beat it in 1993), and it moved: the third best-selling SNES game ever at ~9.3 million, and the fastest-selling game of its era with 500,000+ units in its first week. If you grew up on Donkey Kong Country Returns or Tropical Freeze, this is the original that started that line.

Pick your grade - a genuine classic

Sold by condition grade: every grade plays the same, and the grade only describes how well-loved it looks - here’s how I grade condition. A cornerstone game for any restored SNES bundle; add it to a console and the savings kick in.
